“Art is no longer the privilege of a select few. Everyone should be able to create, exhibit, and appreciate it.”
Seungyeul Choi, CEO of Listbook Inc., shared this vision when speaking about the purpose behind the launch of Artes Gallery, an online art platform. Recently launched, Artes Gallery is an open, online space for anyone who wants to engage with art. It connects various stakeholders in the art ecosystem — artists, patrons, critics, dealers, and collectors — and provides creators with a sustainable environment to continue their practice.
Choi explained, “Artes Gallery is an innovative platform built around the mission ‘Art, Closer and More Diverse.’ It opens new opportunities for countless artworks and artists who have yet to be seen. With optimized search and exhibition features, artworks can be showcased to a global audience.”
Artes Gallery includes features such as dedicated artist portfolios, digital exhibitions, online artwork sales, and artist support mechanisms. Notably, artists receive 90% of the proceeds from sales, and fans can directly support artists through the platform. “This allows creators to establish a stable revenue model for their art,” Choi noted.
He added, “We’ve also built features to support emerging artists,” citing gallery tutorials, guidance on writing artist bios, and support for digital conversion — all designed to help newcomers easily participate in exhibitions. “With multilingual support and a global network, we also plan to foster communication between creators and audiences both in Korea and worldwide,” he said.
Through Artes Gallery, Listbook Inc. aims to present a new structure for art distribution. More than just a platform, it envisions a sustainable art ecosystem that broadens both the opportunity for creation and the space for appreciation.
“Artes Gallery is a platform that expands the possibilities of art beyond technology,” said Choi. “We aim to be the starting point of connection in a world where everyone can express their creativity and share emotional experiences through art.”
The company plans to focus on expanding the platform globally, while also strengthening programs for discovering emerging artists and launching digital art campaigns.
